We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Driver to join our clients transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of goods to clients across various locations. The HGV Driver will ensure that all deliveries are made in compliance with transport regulations, company policies, and health & safety standards.
Driving: Operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) for the safe transport of goods to various destinations.
Route Planning: Plan and follow the most efficient routes to deliver goods on time, while adhering to legal driving hours and rest periods.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness. Report any mechanical issues or damage to the vehicle.
Delivery & Collection: Ensure goods are correctly loaded, unloaded, and secured, while keeping accurate delivery records.
Documentation: Complete delivery paperwork, including logs, timesheets, and any required reports, in a timely and accurate manner.
Health & Safety: Adhere to all relevant safety regulations, ensuring the safety of both the vehicle and its cargo. Comply with all legal requirements regarding road safety.
Customer Service: Interact with clients in a professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and handling any delivery-related queries.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to all transport regulations, including vehicle weight limits, speed limits, and licensing requirements.
Team Support: Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operations within the transport department.
Valid HGV License (Class 1 )
Driver CPC
Previous Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in HGV driving
Knowledge of Transport Regulations: Familiarity with road safety laws, working time regulations, and vehicle maintenance standards.
Good Communication Skills: Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
Health & Safety Awareness: Understanding of health and safety regulations regarding the transport of goods and operation of vehicles.
Flexibility: Willingness to star at various start times to fit with customer requirements
Geographical Knowledge: Knowledge of local routes and road networks.
Customer-Oriented: Strong interpersonal skills and a professional attitude toward customers.
